Congratulations @gergely on this milestone. Coming from an academic background, let me tell you that your newsletter is something that I first recommend to my students (especially Application Development and Software Engineering course) and instructors. Specifically your deepdives and Podcasts bring in a lot of relevant points in our internal meetings where we discuss student employability. More power to you 😀
Would it be possible to explore an 'Inside Microsoft's engineering culture' in a detailed deep dive, similar to the ones on Google, Amazon, and Meta? With the recent cultural shift, particularly the official introduction of PIPs, it would be fascinating to examine how these changes are shaping the engineering landscape at Microsoft.
Hold on, is that 1 million paid subscribers? As in, your revenue is in millions per month? Or is it all subscribers and only part of them are paid?
Anyway, congratulations! I'm paying you for a few years now (and only this month I realized I can ask my company to cover this cost, which they agreed, duh...) and I'm grateful for every piece of news you bring.
Congrats Gergely! Thanks for all that you've put into this newsletter each week. I look forward to the weekly Pulse insight and appreciate the deep dives into Tech across the spectrum. Best of luck in the future!
I have been a paid subscriber to your newsletters for over a year and when the time came to renew my subscription I did it without any hesitation. I always look forward to reading your newsletters and gaining more insights of the broader trends in the industry. As engineers, we are constantly kept busy with our daily work and its easy for us to have our blinders on to what is happening around us.
Congrats on achieving this groundbreaking milestone.
The impact you've made on so many is commendable (I figured my terrible joke would be timely in this day and age). On a serious note, I can't thank you enough for your insightful newsletter and thoughtful writing style. Congratulations and wishing you much continued success and service to us in the tech industry!!
Absolutely incredible and deeply inspiring: 1M subscribers, all organic growth.
Huge congratulations, Gergely! This is more than well-deserved. Your content is one of the few I’m genuinely happy to pay for.
Well deserved, Gergely.
Mastery rewards quiet persistence. You built something lasting through depth, clarity, and service.
Congratulations. It's a true milestone in every sense.

Your growth also demonstrates the change in journalism that happens in front of us - see the article by Tomas Pueyo (btw, another Substack author worth paying): https://unchartedterritories.tomaspueyo.com/p/the-future-of-written-news?utm_source=publication-search
